Carlisle Castle and Carlisle Cathedral are two iconic attractions in this area, both steeped in history. Carlisle Castle is the most impressive Norman castle in the UK, located on a site where William the Conqueror built a fortress in 1093. While Carlisle Cathedral has stood for more than 800 years, its architecture blending Gothic and Romanesque styles. Tully House Museum is the name for three award-winning museums that make up the heritage experience in Carlisle city. Kirkandrews House is a 7-bedroom large holiday house situated in the stunning Cumbrian countryside, 6 miles away from Gretna Green. It offers beautiful far-reaching countryside views and comfortably sleeps up to 13 people. All are invited to enjoy the area's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nearby towns such as Carlisle and Longtown (3 miles away), and access to the northern parts of the Lake District National Park. The large holiday house is well-equipped for holidaymakers’ leisure and entertainment needs. On the ground floor is a spacious sitting room with an open fire, a dining room for special occasions, a TV room with a widescreen TV and DVD set, a hall that doubles up as a games room with a pool table, a kitchen with all necessary appliances, and a utility room with a freezer. There is also one en-suite double bedroom downstairs. Upstairs has 6 bedrooms and 2 family bathrooms, consisting of two en-suite double bedrooms, three more double bedrooms and a single bedroom.
