This area features rolling hills, ancient woodland, and stunning views across the Bristol Channel and onto Wales. The highest point in the area is Wills Neck, at 519m above sea level. The nearby Wells is the smallest city in England and is renowned for its medieval cathedral and Bishop's Palace. A short drive away is Glastonbury Tor, a mystical hilltop with its own legend, believed to be the site of the Holy Grail. The land around the Quantock Hills is known as the Somerset Levels or the ‘lowlands’. It is a unique region where the flat terrain is interspersed with low lying marsh regions and is home to many species of bird life. The small town of Wookey Hole is also close by, known for its caves, underground river, and limestone gorge.
